Acupuncture Home Visit

The initial visit includes a health history review and intake. All visits involve a tongue analysis, pulse reading, and acupuncture treatment. Single-use, sterile needles are placed in the body for 20-30 minutes. For sensitive individuals, tiny Seirin needles are available with medical grade silicone coating for added comfort. Therapies such as cupping, Tui na massage, & moxibustion may be included when appropriate.

Cupping

$150 (or 3 for $300 save $150)

Cupping involves applying cups to soft muscle tissue. A partial vacuum is created in a cupping jar, usually by means of heat, which is then applied directly to the skin. The cups may be glided across the surface of the skin, or remain stationary. It releases tight tissues and increases circulation to the area. Cups may remain in place for 10-20 minutes.

Moxibustion (Moxa Therapy)

$150 (or 3 for $300 save $150)

Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy that stimulates specific acupuncture points of the body. It involves the burning of an herb called mugwort to create heat and facilitate healing. If preferred, after the first visit we can provide moxa sticks and instructions to continue treatment at home on your own. This is very helpful with certain conditions such as having a breach baby during pregnancy or when enduring chemotherapy for cancer. Moxa is administered anywhere between 10-20 minutes per session.

Herbal Medicine & Supplements

Price varies

Herbs and supplements have specific actions which can aid in healing pain and internal imbalances. They may be used alone or in conjunction with acupuncture and other therapies. Available in whole, powder, pill, and liquid forms.

INSURANCE

We do not bill insurance, however we can provide you with an itemized receipt or "superbill" that contains the information you need to get reimbursed directly by your insurance. If you don't know whether you have acupuncture coverage, ask your insurance carrier if you have "out-of-network" acupuncture benefits. We are considered an "out-of-network" provider. If you need help, please contact us. We try our best to assist you. Please be aware that when you submit a superbill, it's up to your insurance company to decide what services they ultimately will or will not cover. Thank you!

Why Purchase a Series of Visits?

There are many factors which determine the exact outcome of acupuncture treatment, but two that are mostly in our control and are particularly important are:

1. the number of acupuncture sessions received

2. the frequency with which they are received

In China, acupuncture plays an important role not only in treating illness, but in maintaining health and longevity by preventing illness. Individuals may receive acupuncture every day or every other day for 10 sessions and then are re-evaluated. If desired results aren't achieved, another round of acupuncture is administered. In this country our health care system is different: Eastern and Western medicine are not as integrated, and the cost of care can be prohibitive. As a result, sometimes people don't receive the number of acupuncture treatments they need to resolve a condition, or they don't receive a high enough frequency of treatments to more quickly heal a painful or urgent problem. Many conditions like acute low back pain or injury respond better and faster with multiple acupuncture sessions in one week- for example 3 sessions in 3 consecutive days. More chronic conditions require more visits than acute problems in the long run, but may not be as frequent, for example once or twice per week instead of 3 visits per week. For certain chronic conditions that may not resolve but rather need to be managed over time, such as certain types of cancer or certain autoimmune diseases, it makes sense to receive treatments over a longer period of time. We might recommend continuing treatments over months or years to optimize health and manage symptoms. Another reason we often recommend a series of treatments is because it changes the body over time, allowing for better health and thus more sustainable results.

The package deal is available to help you use acupuncture the way it was intended- as a series of treatments. It can help you receive the treatments you need to feel better, achieve results sooner, and sustain those results. The package is also ideal for those individuals who desire to reduce the impact of stress during difficult times, optimize athletic performance, balance emotions, or just improve general health and well-being. One doesn't necessarily need a diagnosis or a problem to seek out acupuncture. In fact, preventive medicine is an area where Chinese medicine excels (and where Western medicine has little to offer). Once purchased, you may choose to use the visits once per week or more frequently if needed.

~Family and Friends Discounted Group Acupuncture~

$125/session

We strive to make home visits more affordable and accessible in our community. In addition to package deals, another way we do this is by providing group discounts. You may choose to request small group acupuncture sessions for your family or friends, which you host in your own home. After the initial visit, you and your friend(s) or family member(s) will receive acupuncture sessions for just $125 each. Small groups may consist of a minimum of 2 people (including you) to a maximum of 4 people. Like community acupuncture, the intake portion is shortened so that there's time to treat everyone. The treatment length does not change. It's a win-win for all of us because we get to treat more people, and you receive more affordable acupuncture without the stress of driving.
